CHIN AUGMENTATION IN THE PHILIPPINES

Facial balance is a vital element to achieving an attractive and visually pleasing facial profile. Balance means that the different parts of the face complement each other in such a way that good features are enhanced and flaws are minimized. The chin is one crucial feature that can make or break facial balance. A well-defined chin connotes aesthetic balance and stronger facial profile both for men and women. Meanwhile, a weak chin can make the neck appear loose or make the nose appear bigger. For others, it’s more than just a matter of physical appeal. Microgenia, a medical condition that refers to an unusually small or deformed chin, can adversely affect self-confidence and lead to stress and anxiety.

Alonzo Cosmetic Surgery offers a safe and effective solution to small and underprojected chins through Chin Augmentation in the Philippines.

What is Chin Augmentation?

Chin Augmentation or Mentoplasty is a surgical procedure that remedies underprojected chins and restores proportion to the facial profile. With the use of a durable implant (made of silicon material), this technique works on the underlying structure of the face to enlarge and improve the contour of any undersized, weak or receding chin, as well as correct big chin. Depending on the recommendation of doctors and willingness of patients, Chin Augmentation Surgery is sometimes done in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures.

Why is Chin Augmentation in demand?

Chin Augmentation Surgery is one of the most frequently performed facial implant procedures globally. Many clients achieve great satisfaction from the surgery because of its multiple benefits.

  • It is a safe, easy for the patient, and medically proven procedure that does not require highly complicated recovery habits, yields quick outcomes, and promises long-lasting results.
  • It thoroughly improves the facial proportions and defines the facial profile in cases where the jaw, chin, and cheeks lack distinction. It works wonders done alone but if need be, results can be maximized when done with other facial procedures.
  • It restructures the chin in such a way that guarantees visually enticing end-results without appearing ‘artificial’ or suggesting that ‘work has been done’. As the face heals, you will see a more natural-looking chin projection,
  • It promises a way of healing through improving not only someone’s physical appearance but also one’s self-esteem, especially for people with bad cases of microgenia who oftentimes suffer from being called names, become overly self-conscious, and ultimately suffer from emotional and mental setbacks.
  • Candidates for Chin Augmentation

Every candidate we serve at the Alonzo Cosmetic Surgery for Chin Augmentation Surgery is guided during consultations by our doctors, Dr. Benjamin Alonzo and Dr. Benz Alonzo. The client’s individual circumstances, goals and expectations, and concerns, are discussed to gauge their fit, physically and mentally, for the surgery. If you are interested to get Chin Augmentation in the Philippines, please be informed that candidates must:

  • Have a recessed or small chin that is highly unbalanced with a prominent nose
  • Be in good health with no serious ailments and preferably with a normal/average weight
  • Reduce or avoid smoking, as much as possible, before and after surgery
  • Have realistic expectations and overall positive outlook towards the end-results
  • Should I couple it with other procedures?

Chin Augmentation Surgery can be performed with other procedures in order to achieve maximum results. Its most common partner is rhinoplasty, the surgical reshaping of the nose, but one can also opt to combine it with facelift, browlift, eyelid surgery, cheek augmentation, and botox, enhancing the results from these procedures seamlessly. In cases like these, we encourage an open mind and honest communication with our patients. Our doctors will still conduct a facial assessment to develop an individualized plan for you and give you honest advice on what you need.

    Risk and Safety

Chin Augmentation in the Philippines is a relatively easy procedure to go through, with minimal and not too serious potential complications. These risks include:

  • Swelling and numbness of the lower lip
  • Infection or any bad reaction from anesthesia
  • Displacement of the implant

  • Please keep in mind that these are only potential complications and could be easily remedied by our expert doctors in case they occur. Our doctors will provide as much guidance as they can during the whole process but we will only proceed to start once we have your written consent.

The Process of Chin Augmentation Surgery

The Chin Augmentation surgery is performed in the ACS clinic’s operating room on an outpatient basis. It is conducted by Dr. Benjamin Alonzo and Dr. Benz Alonzo, along with an expert anesthesiologist. ACS operates a professional surgical facility with well-maintained equipment, competent staff, and warm and friendly ambiance.

    Pre-Surgery

You may be required to do the following prior to the surgery:

  • Undergo a medical evaluation or lab testing
  • Discuss current medications you are taking. You may be given an independent prescription.
  • Stop smoking temporarily and refrain from taking blood thinners such as aspirin
  • The Surgery

Chin augmentation, or mentoplasty is performed usually with local anesthesia. A durable implant is then inserted through an incision concealed seamlessly in the skin creases located just under the chin. Our doctors make sure to apply small incisions, so once the treated area is completely healed, any scar will not be visible. Chin augmentation surgery usually takes around 1 to 1 ½ hours to finish but in cases where it is done in conjunction with other procedures, the surgery takes longer.

    Recovery and Recuperation Process

Sutures are applied on the chin once the operation concludes, and the face is immediately wrapped with bandages. Other than that, you may go home after the procedure to rest and begin with recovery from your chin augmentation surgery. Please be guided accordingly:

  • You will wear a facial garment or bandage for at least five days.
  • You will go back to the clinic on the third day for the removal of bandages then on the 7th and 10th day for the removal of stitches.
  • You may experience feelings of soreness and discomfort but these can be alleviated with the medications prescribed by our doctors.
  • You need a soft diet for a couple of days. Soft chewing of food is strongly advised.
  • You can go back to work after a few days of rest but avoid any strenuous activities like sports and exercise that can injure your face.
  • You should expect swelling and bruising, but these will disappear within 1 to 2 weeks. Expect feeling of numbness in the operated area as well but it should not be too prominent and will go away within one to three months.
  • How long till you see the results? Do they last?

Within a period of three weeks, you will notice that your chin is already improving and the whole facial profile, starting to restructure for a more balanced proportion. You can see the final result after a month. By then, striking differences from your chin augmentation surgery will be very much visible and the implants feel more natural. It will continue to improve as your healing progresses. The material used for chin implants are durable and are guaranteed to last for years, promising lasting aesthetic outcomes.
